About the Doctor
Dr. Thiyagarajan Thangavelu studied medicine in the prestigious Stanley Medical college, Chennai and went to the USA for specializing in Internal Medicine, at the University of Illinois, Saint Francis Hospital, Chicago. He went on to work for the world-famous Mayo Clinic Health System and has imbibed the values Mayo stands for— putting the needs of the patient first, promoting education and research. As he treated more complex medical conditions, he understood that it was the poor management of the underlying disorders which caused his patients’ health issues. More often the disorders were diabetes and obesity. This led him to further specialize in Diabetes, Endocrine and Metabolic disorders. He trained as fellow for the same in the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha. He is American Board certified in Endocrinology, Obesity Medicine and Internal Medicine.
Dr. Thiyagarajan Thangavelu is currently working as Consultant Endocrinologist at PSG hospital, Coimbatore. Kovai Endo care is his private practice for the evenings. He gives consultations in the online platforms such as Docon and Icliniq.
About the Clinic
Dr. Thiyagarajan’s passion to deliver world class management of diabetes and endocrine disorders encouraged him to start his own evening practice, the seed of his vision, at Bharathi colony Main road, Peelamedu. The clinic is conveniently located just off of the Avinashi Road in Peelamedu with ample parking area in the vicinity.
The clinic premises has spacious consultation rooms, separate room for vitals and a larger waiting area for the convenience of the patients. The patient health information are saved in Electronic medical records for accuracy in follow up care.
The clinic offers diet and diabetes self-management education for the benefit of the patients and their health partners. Clinic will also arrange for home lab collection.
